Jordan Obita has said to forget catching the top two and focus on securing a play-off place.

The Royals are currently sixth, but Wigan can leapfrog us with a win in their game in-hand against Sheffield Wednesday on March 12th. Some optimistic fans have said with a good run of form we can make the auto spots, but with 13 points to make up in 14 games, it could be too much.

Speaking to BBC Radio Berkshire, Obita said: ‘I’m sure we can get in the plays-offs. That is our main aim now as first and second places are now miles away. Wigan are one point behind and have a game in hand so it puts a bit more pressure on us.’

‘I believe we can beat Yeovil, they are not one of the best teams in the league. I’m confident in our ability and believe we can win. When we are on form we are one of the best and we need to start showing it. Hopefully next week we can put it right and get a win.’

Wise words from young Obita – auto places will certainly be too much to ask from us now, play offs is a much more realistic ambition. I hope Adkins has emphasised this to the players too, as it could take some of the pressure of their backs in the run in to the end of the season.
