While transfer speculation surrounds many of the players at Reading, captain Graeme Murty’s is 100% committed to the cause of getting the Royals back in the top flight.

He said, ‘I want that on my CV.

‘I want to take us back up because that`s where this team, I believe, deserves to be. It`s where the manager definitely wants to be and the chairman wants to be.

‘It`s good to get back and see all the boys. Everyone has a few tall tales to tell. We have had a really good rapport over the last few years and hopefully we can use the disappointment (of relegation) to bring us even closer together.’

While some of the Reading players seem to be getting a little bit too big for their boots following hte stint in the Premier League, skipper Murty has kept his feet firmly on the ground and is under no illusions.

He continued, ‘I`m a Championship player – it`s as plain and simple as that. But we want to go up and have the perks again, and as long as we keep little reminders going throughout the season – of where we want to be and where we should be – then we will be OK.’

I thought there was really something going on at Reading, what witht the record points tally, the fantastic firt season in the premiership, and the international call ups. I was therefore dissapionted when you got relegated. I really hope it works out for you, and when you next get up to the premiership, you make some top signings, and become established – or even aim for Europe.
