Reading manager Brian McDermott has admitted that it is highly unlikely that the Royals will be spending in this upcoming transfer market, despite the recent sales of Shane Long and Matt Mills.
The Royals have already completed the signing of striker Karl Sheppard on a free transfer, with the free agents or loan market going to be a likely destination if McDermott wants to strengthen.
The 50-year told the Reading Chronicle: ‘I really don’t know if we will get anyone else in. Under the current regime, we don’t look like we’ve got anything at the moment. But you never know in football and we will taking things day by day.’
Whether McDermott wants to add to squad is a different matter, considering Reading’s recent form. It is believed he is after a centre back and a winger on standby if Jimmy Kebe was to depart the club.
Recent reports have linked us with the signing of Brentford defender Karleigh Osbourne, who is out of contract at the end of the season. Michael Jacobs is also a name that constantly keeps coming up.
