Reading boss Brian McDermott has praised his team for their comeback against Millwall, which his team score 2 in the last four minutes to earn a point.

Mathieu Manset come on with 20 minutes to go and a made an outstanding impact by scoring a brace to share the points in the first game of the NPower Championship season.

The Reading boss told the RFC Official site: ‘We were 2-0 down with eight minutes to go and Manset has come up with two fantastic finishes.’

‘The second one was really good and it came just after Jobi McAnuff had hit the post. Another team would have thought that was it, but to give credit to the players they kept going and showed fantastic resilience.’

McDermott was full of praise for Kenny Jackett’s men who had to withstand a lot of pressure during various points in the match.

The Reading manager said: ‘I’ve seen them in pre-season, any of Kenny Jackett’s sides are very difficult to play against. They’ve got some quality in their team and Ken will be disappointed because they were 2-0 up with not long to play. But they’re going to be up there this season.’

The Royals now travel to Charlton tomorrow night in the first round of the Carling Cup.
