Reading have announced that they have agreed to buy 120 acres of land in Wokingham, to build a brand-new training ground.

As originally anticipated, the site will be in Bearwood and the plans that are being talked about by the club sound very encouraging. They have stated that they are hoping to install 15 state-of-the-art pitches, with various indoor facilities for some educational purposes.

The club were awarded category one academy status in the summer and that status has driven the club’s board into making this exciting development. No date has been set for completion, but it seems all things are moving in the right direction.

This is great news for all concerned with Reading Football Club and settles us down on the Anton issue. Planning permission still needs to be submitted to the council, but that should be accepted with no problems at all. Onwards and upwards!
