Doyle wins Championship Fans’ Award
In the Championship, the fans` favourite is Reading striker Kevin Doyle who continues to show why manager Steve Coppell rates him so highly – and why the Royals were so keen to tie him down to the new, longer contract he signed recently.
PFA Deputy Chief Executive, Mick McGuire says of the Republic of Ireland international: “Kevin was signed for the princely sum of £75,000 and what a bargain he has turned out to be.
An outstanding striker, he has already scored 15 goals this season in assisting Reading`s quest to return to the Premier League.
He is undoubtably a striker of Premiership quality; his movement is superb, showing both pace and imagination in getting behind defenders. Also, his goalscoring ability is without question.”
