Is Pearce off to Liverpool after all?

Alex Pearce was pictured with Liverpool director Ian Ayre during the week, but is he really going to Liverpool after all?

This picture published by the Daily Mail further fuelled an already strong fire, to suggest that the 24-year old was Liverpool bound. However, local journalist Steve Pearce of the Liverpool echo, tweeted that there is still no interest in the defender from the Reds.

I am still perplexed to why they would want Pearce anyway, but then you have to pose the question, why were the two of them pictured together? There must be some form of interest there, but maybe some have exaggerated it beyond the reality.

It’s quite clear he doesn’t want to sign a new deal here and even if he did, I think the damage has been done. Pearce will have a harsh reality check if he think he is good enough for a top Premiership side, let alone a team who at a play fast-paced tempo.
