On the back of four straight defeats, Paul Jewell’s Ipswich side return home to face a Reading side that aren’t in the best of form themselves, losing two of the last three.

Vital Quotes:

Ipswich manager Paul Jewell – ‘”At the moment we`re going through a sticky patch. I defy anyone to name any team that hasn`t gone through a sticky patch. We`ve been through one already this season and got over it, now we need to get over this one.’

Reading boss Brian McDermott – ”We felt we got a decent, honest performance last week, and now, for example, we’ve got to cut out goals from set plays against us, that can’t happen and we need to address it. If we play with the same intensity we’ll get the right result.’

Ipswich Team News:

Ipswich talisman Keith Andrews could return for Paul Jewell after a broken nose. Former Royals player Ibrahima Sonko has a hamstring problem so fellow former Reading defender Ivar Ingimarsson will deputise.

Player to watch: Keith Andrews

The Republic of Ireland international has been in decent form of late for his country and is always a threat with his long-range shooting

Reading Team News:

Left back Joseph Mills will have a later fitness test due to an ankle problem but Ian Harte will step in if need be. Brynjar Gunnarsson is also out. Defender Bongani Khumalo is back in training but will not be considered.

Player to watch: Jimmy Kebe

The contract-rebel winger had a decent game against Cardiff so he may be able to pick up a little more form against a fragile Ipswich defence.

Match Prediction:

With both teams on quite a poor run, I’m going to go for a stalemate. 0-0.
