Two of the four Royals Jamaican contingent played this morning, as they were narrowly edged out by Mexico 1-0.

Winger Garath McCleary and ever-present defender Adrian Mariappa both played the full game in Kingston, which was a World Cup qualifier for 2014. Also called up was Shaun Cummings, but was not selected, while Jobi McAnuff returned to the UK for the imminent birth of his child.

While their qualification chances are looking slim, they will go onto face the United States on Friday morning. Changing the subject slightly, young winger Ryan Edwards has been selected for the Australia U20 squad for the World Cup in the next few weeks.
