Stephen Hunt had admitted he is looking to help get Reading back in the Premier League, to repay Steve Coppell for launching his career.

The Royals rejected a £5million bid from Sunderland in January, but Hunt was expected to move on this summer.

After the signing of Hunt`s younger brother Noel, Stephen has admitted he now has even more incentive to stay with the Royals.

He said: ‘There has been a lot of speculation, but that`s all it is.

‘It can drag on a little, but I have come back for pre-season and will work hard and see what happens.

‘I want to get back in the Premier League, but if I stay here then I will work my butt off to get Reading back in the top flight. That is my honest opinion.

‘Where would I be without Reading? I have come a long way in the last couple of years and obviously I still want to progress.

‘There are boundaries you can cross to get out of a football club, but I won`t step over that line.

‘I am not looking to cause trouble, I will just work hard. I live in a great area and I get paid well to do a job I love. It`s a great life.

‘It`s also great having my brother here. I have always wanted to play in the same side as him and now it has happened.’

He doesn’t sound too convinced!! Wouldn’t be the end of the world if he goes, although he could be a good player to have around in the c’ship.
