Reading striker Noel Hunt has sung the praises of his manager Brian McDermott for leading them back to the Premier League.

The 28-year old striker has been a regular starter in Brian McDermott’s side this season and will get his first opportunity at Premier League football next term. Hunt has formed a formidable partnership with Jason Roberts in recent months that has played a big part in the Royals’ incredible rise up the Championship table.

Speaking to SkySports.com, Hunt said: ‘It is really, really good to see good people have success in the game and he is one of them. His qualities are right he wants us all working hard throughout the game and if you give 100 per cent Brian is always pretty happy with you. It is really, really good to see good people have success in the game and he is one of them.’

‘It becomes a standard mark that you give nothing but 100 per cent for him and that’s what the boys do we give everything we can for the manager and he appreciates that after every game. When we need a kick up the backside he gives us one and when credit is due he dishes it out so he has got a great mix there and for me it he has got it spot-on this season.’

The former Dundee United striker will also hope his good form for Reading could earn himself a shock call-up to the Republic of Ireland squad for Euro 2012. Noel has only been selected for one squad under Giovanni Trapattoni but could force his way into the squad after an injury to regular Leon Best. Defenders Alex Pearce and Ian Harte are other names hoping for that call.
