Reading’s chief executive Nigel Howe has been speaking about the Royals recently-agreed partnership Formula One team Marussia.

Both parties revealed the deal at Silverstone yesterday, which details that Marussia will have the club logo advertised on their Formula One car, while Reading will have the Marussia logo on their replica strip for the upcoming season. It has been described as a ‘fantastic opportunity to grow awareness of the Reading FC brand on a global scale’.

Quoted by the Official Reading FC website, speaking about the marketing move, Howe said: ‘This is a fantastic partnership which allows us to connect two global sporting brands. Both of us are based in the Thames Valley and hugely ambitious; it is clear that we have plenty in common and can learn from each other.’

‘We will be proud to see our badge displayed at some of the world’s most iconic tracks – this is one of many ambitious projects we have announced in the last year or so and I’m sure our supporters will share our excitement.’

Anton’s commercial growth of Reading FC continues, but despite some raising concerns over these links with other brands, it has more positive benefits for the club, rather than negative. It is simply a commercial move, that will have no affect on the fans or the playing staff – which is all that matters!
