Young Reading defender Michael Hector has joined League Two outfit Barnet on a one-moth loan deal, where he will be managed by former Royal Lawrie Sanchez.

The towering 6’4 centre back has only just recovered from a five-moth spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury and is keen to get back up and running.

He has appeared a few reserve games of late and has had previous loan spells at Havant and Waterlooville, Didcot Town and most recently Irish team Dundalk FC.

Barnet currently find themselves second from bottom with the worst defence in the Football League, conceding nearly 40 goals already this season.

In other news, young Aussie midfielder Ryan Edwards helped the Socceroo’s to a 1-0 victory over Singapore, playing a crucial part in the win.
