Reading striker Nicholas Bignall has returned back to his parent club after his loan at League One side Wycombe Wanderers was cut short due to injury.

The 21-year old only played 25 minutes for the Chairboys against Charlton last week, where he picked up the injury forcing him back just over a week ago since he signed.

Wycombe manager Gary Waddock told the Bucks Free Press: ‘I think he could be out for a little while. I believe he went in for an operation as well this week.

‘It’s unfortunate for him because he wanted games and we were looking for a centre forward for some time. We wish him well and hopefully he has a speedy recovery.’

Bignall has been shipped out of loan many times by the Royals, including spells at Stockport, Bournemouth and Southampton last season.
