Michael Hector now into his eleventh loan spell as a Reading player, as he joined SPL side Aberdeen yesterday.

The 21-year old is yet to make a first team appearance for the Royals and is being shipped out on loan again, but in the top division of Scottish football. The loan is set to last for six months, but both parties could agree on a longer period if necessary.

Hector spent last season on loan with three different clubs, League One outfit Shrewsbury and League Two sides Aldershot and Cheltenham. He is best exploited as a central defender, but has occasionally played as a central midfielder in some of his loan spells.

I hope it works out in Scotland for him – he is still only 21, so it’s still normal for a player not to make the first team. I’m sure Hector’s time will come. The club would have let him go on a permanent if they didn’t see any potential in him.
