Reading are represented in the latest League Cup team of the round that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Callum Harriott in the penalty victory over MK Dons last Tuesday at the Madejski Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the League Cup competition.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Harriott was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the EFL Cup blurb read.

‘It took extra-time to shake off Milton Keynes Dons, but Harriott’s performance was a joy to behold as Reading marched on to Round Three. The winger’s sumptuous skills saw him score both goals in the 2-2 draw, and not even a shoot-out miss could but a dampener on what was a fine performance from the 22-year-old.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Harriott for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.
