Reading’s Director of Football Nicky Hammond has once again stated the club’s content to keep Jimmy Kebe at the Madejski Stadium, despite increasing speculation be could be on his way out.

Interest in the 27-year old Malian has been high, with Premier League sides Bolton and Stoke along with Championship rivals Leicester City and West Ham keen to pursue the winger as his contract is running out at the end of the season.

Hammond talking to BBC Radio Berkshire said: ‘We have offered him a new deal and we want him to stay. We don’t want Jimmy to leave. There is no pressure on us for us to sell him.

On the topic of possible incomings, he added: ‘I’m sure there will be bits and pieces happening. As always if we can find a player who can add to our squad and helps us to push forward and we get the permission from the board and the owner then we will do it.’

Reading have already signed Karl Sheppard from Shamrock Rovers but could add further to the squad. Centre back could be a possible position to strengthen with Bongani Khumalo likely to depart this month.
