Nigel Adkins credited his side’s resilience and attitude, in their 2-1 victory on Norwich on Saturday.

The Royals boss handed Jake Cooper just his second league start of the season and repaid his manager’s faith by scoring the two goals that secured the win. Gary Hooper gave Norwich an early lead, but two successful corners allowed us to turn the game around before half time.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website, Adkins said: ‘The attitude was first class, and so was the performance. The players showed great grit, passion and perseverance. We shored ourselves up a bit and they’ve been working extremely hard on the training ground.’

‘We were very solid, so it’s a pleasing victory away from home. We’ve been playing some decent stuff but it’s about results. It’s not easy to come here but we’ve won by coming from behind. We were aware of the threats that Norwich have, but also their weaknesses as well.’

A great result for us and the defensive performance was very good too, Norwich may be on a bad run of form, but they are a good side. The gaffer gave plenty of praise to Cooper, so let’s hope he backs that up by starting him against Bolton next Saturday alongside Hector.
