The latest addition of the Vital Reading blog

Well just one point from two games this week, but everyone is a bit happier after the Cardiff game on Wednesday. Ok so we should have smashed them out of sight, and were denied by a very controversial goal, but the performance is certainly something to build on. Especially after the QPR performance which was quite frankly dreadful.

We have been calling for more than one striker on the pitch for weeks, but not many would have expected McDermott to play 3 against Cardiff! It worked well though and Noel Hunt looked somewhere near his best playing in a role on the left hand side. Simon Church also played well but he must start taking his chances as he gets in the best positions during games, of all our strikers. I liked him playing ‘in the hole’ as well, he looked good.

With Jimmy Kebe still likely to be out for the weekend against Norwich, I would like us to keep the same 11 and attack from the off. We have always been a better side down the years when we are going forward and I think that is the case still now.

To finish this week I want to end on a new feature, Hero and Villian of the week!

This week’s hero – Noel Hunt

Great to see him back to fitness and scoring goals, long may it continue.

This weeks villian – Hal Robson Kanu

Such a lazy player, put in a poor display against QPR and didn’t do much better when he came on against Cardiff.
