Former striker set for Madejski return

We will be seeing a familiar face at the Madejski Stadium this season, in the form of former striker Simon Church.

The Welsh international has joined Championship side Charlton today, following his release from Reading last month. Church has been on trial with the South-East London side for the past couple of weeks and has signed a two-year deal with the Addicks.

Church showed he had potential at 21-years old, but didn’t really for fill this pedigree. There was the odd sign of brilliance, but not enough of it from him, which was a shame, considering he is a local lad. Best of luck to Churchy with Charlton – let’s just hope he doesn’t come back to haunt us!
