The Football League’s chief executive, Shaun Harvey, has hinted the long-awaited takeover should be completed with no problems.

The club have already announced a partnership has been agreed with a Thai consortium, but has still needed ratification from the Football League. One member of the consortium has felt intimidated by the extensiveness of the tests, but Harvey has defended the process.

Speaking to Sky Sports when questioned about the owner and director’s tests, Harvey said: “With the owners and directors’ test, the applications have been in from the directors and investors. I don`t believe there`s anything that will cause any distress from that.

‘We are spending more time on the source and sufficiency of funding to ensure the club is appropriately funded going forward, so we know whose money is going into the club. But the club is aware of these steps and I think they are quite satisfied with that.”

The proof of funds was where Anton Zingarevich maybe slipped through the net of the Football League, so I can understand why they want to make sure of this and is therefore, causing delay. Going by Harvey’s word, I fully expect it to go through soon, with no problems at all.
