Reading’s Australian goalkeeper Adam Federici has linked up with fellow Royal Hal Robson-Kanu by signing a month long loan deal at Southend.
The 23 year-old, who is understudy to Reading no.1 Marcus Hahnemann, joins Southend in the wake of Reading’s exit from the Carling Cup.
Royals boss Steve Coppell said: ‘After being knocked out of the Carling Cup at Stoke on Tuesday night, Adam’s first team chances here would probably be limited in the next few weeks.
Therefore this loan move is an absolutely ideal opportunity to test himself by playing regular league football.’
