Reading left back Marcus Williams has joined League One outfit Sheffield United on a one-month loan deal.

With the deal going through yesterday, he was able to play as Sheffield United lost their unbeaten start to the season as they fell to Huddersfield 3-0 at home.

The 25-year old full back has been surplus to requiremtnts at the Madejski Stadium, with the signing of Joseph Mills shoving him further down in the pecking order.

Since signing from Scunthorpe on a free transfer in 2010, he has only made 3 starts for the Royals coming at the start of last season and has not made the squad on any occasions this term.

Vital Reading revealed last month that along with Brian Howard, Marcus Williams has asked to leave the club.

Williams was shipped out on loan twice last season, to Championship rivals Peterborough United and to his former club Scunthorpe United.
