Reading striker Adam Le Fondre has said the morale in the squad isn’t down despite the recent run that has seen the Royals lose four games in a row.

The former Rotherham striker told the RFC official site: ‘We’re bitterly disappointed with the result and obviously the performance. We didn’t create too much and they punished us with two set plays which killed the game.’

‘I don’t think confidence is the problem; we’ve got the right blend in the squad – all we have to do is hit a good run of form and then we’re right in the mix.’

Le Fondre, 25, made his first appearance for the club last Saturday against Watford alongside Mathieu Mathieu Manset, two strikers that were playing in League Two this time last year.

‘I felt alright, I didn’t feel out of place. We only had three or four days of Manny and I working together so hopefully that’ll come to fruition in the games to come and we’ll gel.’

The squad will now look to this Saturdays game against bottom of the table side Doncaster Rovers, who themselves are on a similar run.
