Sean Morrison has expressed his delight at receiving a new deal and will continue his recovery from injury.

The central defender extended his current contract by another year, committing him to the club until the summer of 2017. Unfortunately, Sean has out of recent games due to a knee injury, but after the club decided against an operation, is continuing his recovery slowly but surely.

Speaking to the Official Reading FC website, Morro said: ‘It feels great to finally get it done and now I can concentrate on getting fit and getting back in the team. When I first came here it took about a year and a half to break into the first team.’

‘Just like Jordan, I had to go on loan and do my thing – so to finally be playing in the first team regularly is a massive achievement. Sometimes you need to take a step back to take two forward. Going on loan was massive for me and has helped me get to where I am today.’

A good move by the club to get Morro down for an extra year – at just 22, he is showing great qualities as a defender. He has certainly matured from last season, where although he didn’t look out of his depth, looked as if he had a mistake in him.
