Reading new boys, Michael Duberry and Greg Halford will be handed their first chance of football in a hooped shirt. The duo will start in tonight`s reserve game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Reading`s other latest signing; Alan Bennett will not get to feature as there are fears over his fitness.

Since joining from Cork, Bennett has not featured in any football since November due to a Christmas period in the Irish League:

“Alan has hardly played any football since November,” explained Steve Coppell,

“It is close-season in Ireland and he has only had a couple of weeks of pre-season with them so the plan is not to kill him early doors.”

There is good news for Brynjar Gunnarrsson, he will make a return to football after being sidelined with a hamstring injury since the beginning of the year.

But perhaps the most exciting news is the return of Kevin Doyle. Doyle was injured in Reading`s 1-1 draw with Everton in mid January, the Royals` top goalscorer will start the Reserve game alongside Dave Kitson.

The remainder of Reading`s line up is just as strong with Seol Ki Hyeon, Bobby Convey and Ulisses De La Cruz all included.

Reading reserves will hope to punish their Spurs counterparts as the London side is the only one to beat the Royals reserves this season.

The game will take place at Stevenage Borough’s ground.

Reading reserves: Federici, Halford, De La Cruz, Sodje, Duberry, Seol, Oster, Gunnarsson, Convey, Kitson, Doyle. Subs: McCarthy, Cox, Henry, Davies, Bygrave.
