Daily Mail: Sidwell Won’t Sign

The Daily Mail is suggesting there`s as much chance of Steve Sidwell renewing his contract with Reading as there is of Jesus visiting a brothel, and I don`t mean to cleanse them of their sins (know what I mean?) Although they didn`t quite put it like that?

But that aint all the Mail has got to say, oh no! They also suggest that the flame haired midfielder is being targeted by another red head.

Apparently Sidwell has turned the fiery head of Gordon Strachan who would be keen to take Sidwell to Celitc.

And the chance of Champions League football and domestic success could be a very appealing choice to Reading`s contract rebel?

Meanwhile Sidders says he has heard fans jeering him at games:

‘I’m getting a bit of stick from a few fans that I’ve been hearing.

‘It’s frustrating when I’m committed to the club. In the time I’ve been here I’ve never put a foot wrong.

‘If they want to turn on me they can do. It’s not a problem. I’m sure it’s just a small minority.

‘The majority are behind me and I’ve shown I’m putting my performances in and working hard for the team which is the most important thing.’

You must have sensitive ears, Steve! I haven`t heard a peep at games, although admittedly I can`t be in every corner of the Stadium, besides you`ve got to understand its just because they will miss you if you go and they don`t know how to channel their emotions productively!

I have to say in pre-season (yes, its been dragging on hasnt it!) there was a bit of banter from fans:

“Sidwell sign a deal” was heard at the Didcot game and soon after a solitary voice shouted “Sidwell, deal or no deal?” Which I found highly amusing!

But since Coppell spoke out in the press about him being here to a job and fans should support him I didn`t think there were any more problems?

If you know of any Sidwell abuse please report it here, any response will be dealt with seriously and we will treat you with complete anonymity! 😉

These players are always very quick to find a reason for looking elsewhere and lets face it we fans get blamed for everything… We even got blamed for our ex chairmans incompetance – life as a footie fan is great!
