Reading striker Simon Church scored a second-half hat trick as the Royals beat AFC Wimbledon 7-0 at the Kingsmeadow Stadium.

The Royals had a strong-looking line up and opened the scoring 27 minutes from the penalty spot, as Hunt was brought down by a Dons defender. Striker Adam Le Fondre stepped up and calmly slotted home and Le Fondre doubled the lead a minute before half time, beating the offside trap and chipping expertly after a superb pass from Kaspars Gorkss.

Reading boss Brian McDermott changed his team at half-time, as did the hosts. Winger Michail Antonio scored a third with a powerful header, while a quickfire double from Simon Church made it five. Jordan Obita’s fine strike made it six, before Church scored his hat trick to round off the scoring at the Kingsmeadow Stadium.
