Reading boosted their chances of making the play-offs, with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over relegation-threatened Charlton at the Valley.

The first half was quite a forgettable one, as both sides failed to create any clear cut opportunities, with the home side having the only shot on target. It certainly livened up in the second period though, as the game opened up, with both teams needing the points.

Danny Williams won the game for Adkins’ side, as his superbly-struck effort nestled into the top corner to give us all three points. Again, our away form is keeping us in the play-off pack, which now takes us five points clear of Nottingham Forest in seventh place.
