Reading`s Chairman, John Madejski, has spoken out on his clubs status in the New Year Transfer Window.

In the summer Reading made but tiny splashes in the transfer market pond, signing only Seol Ki-Hyeon and Sam Sodje and securing Peter Mate and Andre Bikey on loan, despite there being a kitty of around 6milllion to spend.

But Madejski has warned any who expect Reading to be making big ripples in the water this time around that it may not be that simple:

“The manager, Nick Hammond and the staff are out looking all the time.”

“Everybody outside talks as if there are a whole load of players willing to be bought and they`ll change everything. But it doesn`t work like that.”

There is always a dearth of really good players at any time. For us, ticking the right boxes is not easy.”

But we`re doing our very best to get the best players in the game.”

Reading have been linked with a rich tapestry of players, the likes of Matt Upson, Greg Halford, and Bo Myhill along with foreign based players like Eddie Johnson and Mohamed Aboutrika.

Lets hope we do see a little bit of transfer action!
