Chairman – ‘I’m expecting promotion!’

On the eve of the new season chairman Sir John Madejski has broken his recent silence, and is sure the club have got what it takes to push for the Premiership this season. Last season’s strong finish has ensured that he has full faith in the current squad and the manager, and is sure we will be right up there come the end of the season.

He told Official Site ‘I am a very positive person and I am absolutely determined that we can get back to the Premier League.’


Despite lacking at least one centre back, and possibly a full back as well, Madejski is very confident in our squad and the youngsters coming through the academy are highly rated.


‘We’ve got a big strong squad as well as high hopes for those coming through the academy.’


I love his confidence but ahead of the new season, where expectations are being raised after the second half of last season, he would have done better to play down our chances but thats really not his style – and who am I to criticise!
