Reading captain Jobi McAnuff has come out and praised the Reading squad, saying they can cope with the growing injury list ahead of the busy Christmas period.

The Royals were without some crucial players against Leeds, with Ian Harte, Joe Mills, Brynjar Gunnarsson, Jimmy Kebe, Noel Hunt and Mathieu Manset all out injured.

Now not helping Brian McDermott is that it appears Jem Karacan and Shaun Cummings have now picked up minor knocks and will have to be judged closer to the Boxing Day game against Brighton.

The 30-year old winger told GetReading: I never feel we are weaker when we have to make changes. From our point of view that`s where I think we are so strong. If we can keep doing that then I`m sure we will have a good season.”

If Karacan and Cummings were not fit to play against Brighton, it is expected that Andy Griffin could move back to right back and Ian Harte slotting back in at left-back after recovering from sickness. Karacan’s likely replacement would be Jay Tabb.
