The defensive woes continued for Reading, who shipped three goals for the fifth time in seven games, as they were beaten 3-1 by Blackburn at Ewood Park.

It didn`t start well for the Royals, who went behind to a Rudy Gestede firm header early on. Reading improved in the final ten minutes of the first half though and earned a deserved equaliser a minute before the break, as Murray tapped in at the back post from Obita` cross.

There was plenty to play for in the second half, but we clearly didn`t see it that way! Ben Marshall put the home side back in front with a superb free-kick from range, before another goal from Gestede virtually sealed three points for Gary Bowyer`s side, who were well on top.

Maybe the Blackpool result was a one-off then, as the defensive woes have returned to haunt us. Questions will be asked of Adkins and his selection, but are the problems deeper than that? I`m sure we will find out soon enough, as we firstly prepare to face Rotherham on Tuesday.

Full match report to follow Sunday morning.
