A couple of weeks ago we bought you the news that Andre Bikey may be given the chance to sign for Reading on a permanent basis, Steve Coppell commented that:

‘For 22 years of age he (Bikey) has a very bright future – I hope with us. He is still desperate to prove something.’

This was news we had eagerly anticipated and we still live in hope that at the end of the season we will bring you the news that Andre Bikey has signed a permanent deal with the Royals.

But in the meantime we will have to wait to get the 22-year-old Cameroonian internationals name on the back of our shirts and see if such a deal arises.

Bikey himself has made it clear he would like to remain with Reading or at the very least, stay in England:

‘I want to stay in England,’ Bikey told the Reading Chronicle. ‘Everything is good for me here. My Spanish wife likes it because it’s very much like Spain.
‘But Lokomotiv Moscow are my team. I have two more years left with them, so I’ll wait and see what the gaffer decides.
‘He hasn’t said anything to me yet. If I don’t have any options then I’ll go back to Moscow.’
For the time being Andre and Vital Reading alike will await news of further talks of a full-time contract deal being negotiated.

I know that this is totally irelevant but I just wanted to share some of my thoughts about Reading with you! This may sound offensive but before you took the Championship by storm last season I didn’t actually know that Reading was a place! How far you have come though! 8th in the league at this stage in the season is an improbable achievement! This is all the more as amazing as unlike many clubs coming into the top flight and even more established teams, you play a very watchable brand of football. I was lucky enough to be at The Emirates when you lot came down and your fans and players impressed me very much! Odd goal for us to concede pushed us all the way! Your fans did not stop singing and your fans were obviously really enjoying themselves and so they should! There are only two managers in this league that I can stand to listen to one is Arsene and the other is Steve Coppel! He seems to speak logically all the time which is an achievment among big fat sam and that idiot at Chelsea! So well done keep it up! See you at The Emirates next year unless we get relegated hahahahahahah!!!

Thanks for the kind words, Arsenal1991. This season has seen a great respect develop between Royals and Gooners, and this is no doubt because the two teams strive to play attractive attacking football. An ideal end to next season would see Arsenal win the league, with Reading winning a cup and again finishing strong positionally!

You guys deserve all the praise you get! It is a breath of fresh air watching a team that want to win by playing the beautiful game instead of pushing the boundaries of the rules or simply kicking teams apart. It would be ideal for me if we won the league to and I’m sure we could give up a cup hahahah!

Even the Carling Cup would do us mate, silverware is hard to come by around these parts! Unless of course you discount the Simod Cup and our recent Championship crown.
