It hasn’t been the best of starts to the season for Reading but there have been some good individual performances and things are looking up following Saturdays win over Barnsley. Vital Reading runs through the contenders for the August Player of the month.
Adam Federici
Ok, so he had a shocker against Sheff Utd but those fans that travelled to Swansea just 4 days earlier will have seen him make two world class saves to get us a point, and that doesn’t include the penalty stop!
Gylfi Sigurdsson
Scored a cracking goal in the Carling cup against Burton to show what a fine talent he is and has continued that after breaking into the first team with excellent displays against Sheff Utd and Barnsley.
Scott Davies
Was the stand out performer on the opening day against Nottingham Forest and somewhat unlucky to find himself out of the team at the current time.
Alex Pearce
Vice captain Pearce has lead this young team by example in the absence of Ivar Ingimarsson and scored a vital goal at Oakwell on Saturday.
Noel Hunt
Finally back to full fitness and added to his decent display against Barnsley in the Carling Cup with 2 goals against the Tykes on Saturday to give us our first three points of the season.
These are contenders, its up to you to decide who wins Vital Reading’s August player of the month.
