Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised Monday’s opponents Reading, saying they are likely to put forward ‘a battle’.

The Frenchman witnessed one of his most surreal games as Gunners boss in October in the Capital One Cup, as Arsenal were 7-5 winners at the Madejski Stadium. Reading were 4-0 up in the game, but a superb second half comeback forced extra time and the North London side eventually came out on top.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Wenger said: ‘They are a team who deserve a lot of credit because they came up last year, for me surprisingly. Reading make it difficult for every team in every game, so we expect a battle. Our results are quite consistent and good away from home. Our away our results are in the same bracket as the two top teams.’

It will be an interesting contest on Monday night considering both managers are under a bit of pressure, but I think the pressure will be more on Wenger to win tomorrow night. I don’t expect much from this game and from a psychological point of view, some of those players may keep that previous game in their head, which could affect them.
