Another home tie in the cup

The only saving grace for a rubbish cup draw is getting drawn at home, so our third round draw for the Carabao Cup has been kind.

If anyone was excited enough to stay up until 4.30am this morning to watch the draw, then fair enough, but I’m afraid it wasn’t anything special. We have been drawn against Premier League outfit Swansea City, who we will play at the Madejski Stadium on Tuesday 19th September.

We have already been drawn at home twice against Millwall and Gillingham in the cup, so fingers crossed we continue our winning run. Swansea will be a very good test for us and some of the younger players, but it’s not one that is going to catch the eye for most fans.

On the flip side, if we go full strength, it’s a good opportunity to make it into the last 16 of the competition, which we did last year until Arsenal knocked us out. Hopefully it will be a good time to give some of the players coming back from injury some good game time.
