Leandro Bacuna’s agent has said that the Royals have shown an interest in signing the winger, according to Sky Sports.
The 21-year old currently plays for Dutch top division side FC Groningen and the player’s agent has also claimed that scouts from the Premier League side have gone to watch Bacuna in action. However, the club’s director has stated there has been no formal approach from any side.
Bacuna has appeared at under 19 and under 21 level for the Netherlands, but his performances at club level have been gaining admirers. He has scored five goals this season, scoring three of those goals in consecutive games in April.
With Jobi McAnuff and Jimmy Kebe getting into their 30s and obviously well past their peak, we probably need to start looking into youth options. We still have Robson-Kanu and McCleary to choose from next season, but this lad obviously has some talent.
