Adkins to make Sharp loan permanent in Jan?

Nigel Adkins is reportedly keen to make Billy Sharp’s long-term future with Reading.

According to the Mirror, the Royals boss will submit a bid of £800,000 for the striker in January, who has fallen out of favour at parent club Southampton. Sharp scored his first goal for Reading in the victory over Charlton on Tuesday night.

Sharp has had his problems with injuries since he has joined, so it could be a gamble to make it permanent in January. Extending the loan until the end of the season would probably make more sense, especially as we don’t even know if we have £800k in the bank!
