Nigel Adkins has still maintained that he doesn’t expect any transfer dealings to be done this month.

The ownership situation is still yet to be sorted out at the club, which has effected us signings any potential targets this month. However, Get Reading are reporting that the bid for Hobbs still stands and a loan bid for Graham Dorrans has been submitted.

When questioned by BBC Berkshire after the game about any incomings to Reading over the next few days, Adkins said: ‘I wouldn’t have thought so. The board have got to sort things out and they will. All we can do is focus on the pitch and you can see the togetherness.’

‘We have players who have been out for a long period of time, who I’d like to think are getting a bit closer to the recovery process and we’re going to look forward to enjoying the second half of the season. There has been loads of speculation about other areas of the club and we need to keep concentrate on driving things forward.’

Here is a stat for you – if we don’t sign a player, that will be the first time in ten years that we haven’t signed a player in the January window. I agree with Adkins that the players returning from injury will be a boost, but we could still do with another attacking midfielder.
