Young Reading striker Gozie Ugwu has signed a new two-year deal with the club and has subsequently joined Yeovil Town on loan.

The 19-year old forward is highly-rated by many at the club and has penned his new deal, which will keep him at the Madejski Stadium until 2014. The loan deal is a six-month loan to the League One side, managed by Gary Johnson, who took Royals midfielder Lawson D’Ath on loan last campaign.

Ugwu, an academy graduate, impressed many during his stint with Conference Premier side Ebbsfleet United on loan last season. He made nine appearances and scored a credible three goals. It’s great to see that we’re trying to tie-down our youngsters on deals to see how they develop in years to come.
