Hal Robson-Kanu is a player that has really shone under the leadership of Nigel Adkins and is full of praise for the work his manager has done already.

The Welsh international had an impressive end to the season, most notably his showing at Fulham, scoring a brace at Craven Cottage in Adkins’ only win as Royals boss. The change in the style of play has already been evident to the fans and Robson-Kanu is confident it will prove successful next season.

Quoted by the Official Reading FC website, HRK said: ‘We play it similarly with Wales, where we keep that fluid football, keep the ball, move it, try to hurt teams, penetrate teams that way – and if you do it the right way it can be effective. I think that`s what the manager`s trying to do, he`s come in and he`s trying to implement that.’

‘You saw towards the end of the season that we can hurt teams doing it that way. Pre-season is always tough, but it comes as standard being a footballer, it`s important to get that level of fitness up before you enter into competitive games. The running is not always enjoyable, but being back on the ball and back on the pitch is.’
