Premier League side West Brom are considering moving for Reading striker Noel Hunt in the January transfer window as Roy Hodgson looks to boost his strikeforce, according to SkySports.com.

If the move was to happen, the Republic of Ireland international would join up with his former teammate Shane Long, who joined the Baggies at the start of the season for a deal around £5 million.

With the Royals having just signed striker Karl Sheppard, they are keen to reiterate that they will not sell because of the deal. It is believed Mathieu Manset could well be shipped out on loan to accomodate this move.

Since joining the Berkshire club in 2008, the 28-year old has made almost 100 appearances for Brian McDermott’s side, scoring 26 goals in the process.
