Vital poll result: McCarthy should be in ENG squad

Vital Reading asked Royals fans during the week whether Alex McCarthy should be in the England squad and here are the results.

Yes – he is better than Ruddy or Forster 87%
No – he still has a lot to learn 13%

The 23-year old was not selected by Roy Hodgson for his most recent squads, despite being in very good form for the Royals. This raised questions about selection policies and some Reading fans to question why he wasn’t selected.

The results from the poll seem to back this up, although there may be some bias in there! Joe Hart is the number one, irrelevant of his form and Forster is in good form, but is Ruddy any better than Macca? I doubt we will see McCarthy in an England squad until he is a Premier League goalkeeper.
