The Championship season continued with the latest round of games played during midweek.

Brighton’s 3-1 win over Birmingham took Albion back to the top of the Championship – Newcastle have the chance to reclaim this against Birmingham this evening though.

Defeat for Fulham saw them lose their place in the play-off to Sheffield Wednesday.

At the other end of the table already relegated Rotherham look as if they’ll be joined by Wigan after a heavy defeat at Ipswich. Despite being thrashed at Preston – who still hold play-off hopes – Bristol City remain a point and a place above Blackburn, in the final relegation spot, after Rovers lost at promotion chasing Reading.

Here’s the highlights from Championship action.

Aston Villa 1-0 Queens Park Rangers

Barnsley 0-0 Cardiff City

Derby County 4-2 Fulham
