Fenners takes a look back at the star players from 2011 in the npower Championship. Here`s his top 10 performers of the year.

Aidy Mariappa – Watford – The rock at the heart of Watford`s defence, Mariappa has been Mr Consistency and Watford`s form has been on the up and up.

James Tompkins – West Ham – Courted by several Premier League suitors, West Ham`s young defender continues to impress as West Ham attempt to make him a Premier League player of their own next season.

Craig Noone – Brighton – Brighton`s wing wizard is proving to be one of the most effective wide players in the league and has proved his talents don`t just lie on the pitch!



Ross McCormack – Leeds – The Scottish striker has lead Leeds front-line with skill and craft this season and his goals tally speaks for itself.

Ricky Lambert – Southampton – Lamberts form this season lead Alan Pardew, the man who took him to Southampton, to say that the big striker is Premier League quality. Southampton fans know he is but they also know that they can be there themselves with him leading their line.

Jem Karacan – Reading – Karacan was instrumental in Reading reaching the play-offs last season and has continued to be an old head on young shoulders in Reading`s midfield. He can also dance?



Peter Whittingham – Cardiff – Peter Whittingham continues to both score and create great goals for Cardiff City and they are once agina looking like promotion candidates this season.

Billy Sharp – Doncaster – It`s been a touch start to the year for Billy Sharp and Docaster Rovers, but goals are what he does best and he`s doing week-in-week-out and there`s few better at scoring than him.

Robert Snodgrass – Leeds – The versatile Leeds and Scotland winger is considered to be one of the best players outside the Premier League and his performances this season have served to enhance his reputation and Leeds promotion hopes.

Adam Lallana – Southampton – Lallana is making the table toppers tick which means he`s doing a great job and you can`t ask much more than that!
