With great thanks to Norwich fan Simon Robertson, we ask a few questions ahead of today’s game. We ask about their new gaffer, their danger man and his prediction for the game.

With great thanks to Norwich fan Simon Robertson, we ask a few questions ahead of today’s game. We ask about their new gaffer, their danger man and his prediction for the game.

————————————————————

1) In a nutshell, sum up your season so far?

At the moment, you have to say satisfactory. After the start we made, we all feared the worst as we were all over the place defensively. However, we have certainly started to pick up form, along with some good performances as the Arsenal game showed a few weeks ago.

2) Who are the player/s to look out for?

The recent rise of Wes Hoolahan has been one of noting. He is what you would define a ‘playmaker’, sitting behind Grant Holt and supplying him and the wingers in the side. The Irishman has often been overlooked under some managers here, but it looks like Chris Hughton could well bring the best out of him. Young Alex Tettey is another one to keep your eye on too, superb box-to-box midfielder.

3) You have started to pick up some form after a slow start, where do you think you will end up?

As much as we have improved, I still believe we will be involved in the relegation scrap come the end of the season. However, from what I have seen in recent games, we are good enough to survive it. As long as we win the games we should and recover our strong home form, we should be OK.

4) What did you think about the appointment of Chris Hughton and are you starting to take to him?

The majority of Canaries supporters looked upon this with good optimism, with Hughton being a very well respected coach in the game. Some questioned his lack of experience of managing in the Premier League, but that short tenure at Newcastle wasn’t exactly bad! Obviously it didn’t start well for the gaffer, but not many fans shifted the blame onto him, with the players certainly not playing to their potential. He is a top guy and really hope he does well for us and I think he will.

5) Who has been your best signing this season?

There are a few contenders, but Sebastian Bassong in my opinion has definitely improved our defence. Fellow defender Michael Turner has also been a decent acquisition, they look as if they are going to form a promising partnership.

6) If you could offload any player from your team, who would it be and why?

There isn’t anyone that springs to mind straight away, as most of the squad rightly play their part. Steve Morrison hasn’t really built on his good start to his Canaries career, but I wouldn’t get rid of him yet.

7) Expected line up for the game?

With Russell Martin still an injury doubt, I expect an unchanged line-up from the Stoke game.

Ruddy; Whittaker, Bassong, Turner, Garrido; Johnson, Pilkington, Hoolahan, Tettey, Snodgrass; Holt

8) What’s your prediction for the game?

It will be a tough game as you guys are desperate to get that first win under your belt. I’m going for a 2-2 draw, a result which I would be quite content with too.
