Vital Reading season preview
Club: Charlton Athletic
Founded: 1905
Nickname: The Addicks
Ground: The Valley (Capacity: 27,111)
When we face off: Tues 3rd December (H), Sat 5th April (H)
Last season finish: 9th – Championship
Manager: Chris Powell – The 43-year old has done a fantastic job with Charlton in recent years, achieving promotion in 2012, before a highly successful campaign last year, finishing in a credible ninth position. A young manager with great potential, a few clubs could be interested in the Addicks boss if a position becomes available.
Key player: Michael Morrison – Charlton’s Mr. Reliable, the central defender has become a fans favourite at the Valley. The 25-year old struggled to make an impact at previous club Sheffield Wednesday, but has certainly made a name for himself under Chris Powell.
Season Preview – Charlton’s fine end of season run last campaign almost saw them burst into the play-offs, but just missed out. Chris Powell will want his side to continue that strong form into the coming campaign. The experience of Richard Wood and Mark Gower are decent acquisitions so far by the Addicks, but I’m sure Powell will want a few more additions before the seasons start.
