Vital Reading takes a look at some team news ahead of tomorrow’s game with Ipswich Town at the Madejski Stadium.

The game will come too early for new signing Jamie Mackie, who is still recovering from his hamstring problem. Fellow forward Hal Robson-Kanu is also a major doubt for the game, as well as Stephen Kelly, who has been out injured for the majority of pre-season.

Skipper Jem Karacan and midfield partner Danny Williams are both definitely out, while it appears Danny Guthrie has picked up another injury in his comeback from injury. Our injury problems are rounded off by Garath McCleary also being out with a back problem.

Former Royals winger Stephen Hunt will not play for Ipswich, as well as Cameron Stewart and midfielder Cole Skuse. Summer signing and left-back Jonathan Parr has missed the opening to the campaign due to a groin injury, but could make the bench for the game tomorrow.

Ipswich’s attacking duo of David McGoldrick and Daryl Murphy should be fit for this game, after returning to training yesterday, but the latter could only make the bench. Both Tyrone Mings and Tommy Smith will undergo late fitness tests for this one.
