Tabb going nowhere

Last week Vital Reading reported that QPR were interested in taking midfielder Jay Tabb on loan but director of football Nicky Hammond has denied there was contact with the West London club and that Tabb wants to fight for his place.

The midfielder was signed from Coventry in January, by Steve Coppell, and found himself in the centre of midfield at the start of the season but has slipped further and further out of contention and hasn’t even been amoung the subs in the last 2 games. This lead to rumours he wanted to get first team football elsewhere but this has been ruled out.

Hammond told the Reading Post, ‘Of course he wants to play games, but he is part of the first-team squad and fighting for his place like you would expect from a committed professional like Tabby.”

This is excellent news and with a 2 tough away games coming up ,on Saturday at West Brom and then the following Tuesday against QPR, Tabb will hope to find himself back in the first team picture.
